This visa applies to individuals married to, or in a civil partnership with a British citizen or someone settled in the UK. This application is made under Appendix FM.
In order to be eligible, applicants must prove:
- that their relationship is genuine and subsisting
- Financial requirements
- English language requirements
This visa is typically granted for 30 months and can be extended for a further 30 months. Thus, allowing applicants to apply for indefinite leave to remain after 5 years of obtaining this visa.
Depending on whether the requirements above are met, applicants can apply under the 5 years route or the 10 years route.
Unmarried Partner Visas
This visa applies to couples who have lived together in a committed relationship for at least 2 years.
Similar to spousal visa, applicants are required to meet the following conditions:
- Financial requirements
- English Language requirements
- Accommodation requirements
